Despite the ongoing suspicious campaign surrounding the case of former Minister Amin Salam, the truth has not escaped the attention of observers—especially after the judiciary made its position clear.
Judicial sources told “LebTalks” that Salam, through his legal representative, attorney Samer Al-Hajj, submitted a comprehensive memorandum to the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar, following his summons. The memo included official documents and evidence addressing the accusations made in a personal complaint filed by MP Farid Al-Boustani, which alleged blackmail, embezzlement, and misuse of public funds.
According to the same sources, the memorandum was meticulously detailed, offering a legal explanation supported by evidence and documents for each of the claims raised against the former minister. It clarified the circumstances and refuted the accusations point by point.
After reviewing the contents and completing the necessary judicial procedures, the judiciary delivered its clear verdict: the complaint was dismissed, and the previously issued travel ban was lifted—thus restoring the case to its proper legal course. The sources confirmed that what had occurred was merely a misunderstanding in the handling of the file, which was rectified within the appropriate judicial frameworks.
This legal development restores balance to the situation and puts an end to any confusion or misinterpretation, especially now that the case has been definitively resolved according to legal principles and based on verified facts and official documentation.
